Katherine Lucile “Lucy” (O’ Daniel) Griffin, 77, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday January 29, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Lucy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Lucy loved her church and attended regularly. Lucy liked to walk and had a habit of walking to work for many years. She was known for her flower garden and for the raising of rabbits and goats. She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Lucy is the daughter of the late Katherine (Wooten) and John C. O’ Daniel. She is preceded in death by her husband Bobby Gene Griffin, a daughter Linda (Cagle) Pressley, a son Randy Griffin and her daughter-in-law Donna Cagle.
Left to cherish her memories and to carry on her legacy are her daughters Tarena Cagle, Vicky (Griffin) Russell and sons T.J. Cagle, Ken Cagle and wife Sandra, Ben Cagle and Bobby Cagle and wife Billie. Lucy leaves behind 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She is survived by one sister – Johnnie Taylor.
A celebration of Lucy’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday January 31, 2019 at the Family Worship Center, 1013 W. Charlotte Ave. (Hwy 27), Mt. Holly. Pastor Gerald Taylor will offer words of encouragement and hope to family and friends who gather to remember Lucy. Burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Gardens in Mt. Holly.
