Kathryn Sue Perry Rand of Buhl, MN joined the larger family of God on Monday, January 28, 2019. Born to John Lawrence Edward Perry, Sr. and Kate Valentine Pennington Perry on December 22, 1928 in Quincy, IL, the family moved to Rogers, AR in 1938. Sue graduated from Rogers High School in the spring of 1946, then attended and graduated from the Kansas City Secretarial School. She married Guy Ashley “Bill” Rand, Jr. on September 16, 1949 and they had two daughters. During her time in Rogers, she worked for the Wood Insurance Agency and Daisy Manufacturing in Rogers. Sue lived in Rogers for 56 years and was an active member of the First Christian Church where she served as Sunday School teacher, choir member and occasional musician. Following Bill’s death in 1992, Sue moved to Chisholm, MN in 1994 to be nearer her young grandchildren and was a member of Chisholm Baptist Church. Sue adored her four grandchildren and loved nothing better than to beat them in cards and board games at every opportunity.
Kathryn Sue is predeceased by her parents, John Lawrence Edward Perry, Sr. and Kate Valentine Pennington Perry, her husband of 42 years Guy Ashley “Bill” Rand, Jr., daughter Diane Denise Rand Hohl, sisters Vera Mae (Carl) Looney, Bertha Louise “Bertie” Perry Lester Silseth, Gladys Marie Perry, Loretta Ann Perry, and brother Lawrence Edward (Janice) Perry, Jr.
She is survived by her sister Mary Margaret (Don) Logue of Dallas, TX, daughter Marta Marie (Bill) Lemley of Roanoke, VA, son-in-law David J. Hohl of Side Lake, MN, grandchildren Melissa Erin “Missy” Lemley of Roanoke, VA, Casey Lauren Lemley of Wilmington, NC, Erik Michael (Heather) Hohl of Dallas, TX, Shannon Ashley (Ryan) LaCoursiere of Hermantown, MN, great grandchildren Cade Joseph Clemons of Roanoke, VA, Levi Kukowski of Hermantown, MN, Rowan, Luella and Sawyer Hohl of Dallas, TX, numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at Rogers Cemetery in Rogers, AR on Wednesday, February 6 at 10 A.M. A memorial service will be scheduled at Chisholm Baptist Church in Chisholm, MN at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mission Committee of Chisholm Baptist Church, 5001 County Highway 5, Chisholm, MN, 55719 or to Cornerstone Villa Nursing Home, 1000 Forest Street, Buhl, MN 55713.
