Ellen Jane Hopper Galloway, 72, of Victoria, passed away surrounded by her loving family on January 31, 2019. Ellen was born February 12, 1946 in Wharton to the late Myrtle Weaver and Earl Hopper. Ellen loved her family and adored her grandchildren.
Ellen is survived by her daughters, Natalie Galloway Bowland (Wayne), Shellie Galloway, Christie Galloway Craft (Mike) all of Victoria; brother, Daniel Hopper (Sheryl) of Friendswood, grandchildren, Kayla Bowland, Kyle Craft, Ashley Bowland and Lauren Craft.
Ellen is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dorothy Guin, Lois Toll; brothers, Earl Jr, James, Henry and Bobby Hopper.
Ellen retired from the City of Victoria, Water Dept. after 26 years of service. She was a volunteer with the Citizens Medical Center “Pink Ladies”. She was an active member of Celebration Church. She touched so many lives throughout her 50 years as a Sunday School teacher. She loved spending time with her family and dear friends. She enjoyed sitting on the beach reading a good book as she sipped on her ½ & ½ tea. She was the “Queen” of Dairy Queen.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 3, 2019 from 4-6 pm at Rosewood Funeral Chapel. Funeral Service is Monday, February 4, 2019 at 1 pm at Celebration Church with burial to immediately follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Kyle Craft, David Hopper, Daniel Hopper III, Matthew Hopper, Keith Hanslik, Jacob Badough, Parker Williams and Diego Calvo.
Honorary Pallbearers are Daniel Hopper, Wayne Bowland, Mike Craft, Duane Williams and Keith Hubbard.
Thank you to Dr. Richard Leggett, Citizens Medical Center, Harbor Hospice and Dr. Onstad at MD Anderson for taking care of our Mom. Many thanks to the family and friends that have been with her throughout her journey.
