Lenore E. Simmons, 97, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2019 at NorthCare Hospice House. Private graveside services will be held at Missouri City Cemetery in Missouri City, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to NorthCare Hospice.
Lenore was born November 2, 1921 in Teutopolis, Illinois to August and Bertha (West) Krone. After her service in the US Army during World War II, Lenore moved to the Kansas City Area where she remained a resident the rest of her life. She was a Homemaker as well a devoted and loving mother. She was a very forgiving person, and always put her family before herself. Lenore was quite the seamstress and a very good cook. Many will remember her as being quiet and reserved, often spending her time reading, which she loved to do; especially mystery novels. Lenore also enjoyed shopping for bargains, and loved any opportunity to bring her family together to spend time with them. She was a past member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Kansas City, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank W. Simmons when he passed in 2001; and 2 brothers, Richard Krone and Harold Krone.
Survivors include her 3 children, Frank W. Simmons, Jr., Diane Wilson and Gayle Simmons.
