Her parents, Verde W. and Mary A. (Sawyer) Hebert welcomed their daughter into the world on January 19, 1949, in Peterborough, NH. Donna grew up in Jaffrey, NH and was a graduate of Conant High.
A lady with a huge heart and a gift for helping others, Donna established People Helping People in the early 1980’s, helping those in need for over eighteen years with anything which would make their lives better and happier. She was awarded several humanitarian awards for her dedication to helping others. She always put the needs of her family and of others in the community first over any of her own.
Donna was proud of her role as a stay at home mother, always greeting her children with fresh baked cookies and conversations of their days’ adventures. Donna loved to cook and she was also a great seamstress, making a variety of wonderful things including costumes for her daughter’s students. She was also a gifted artist.
She loved music, especially country and western, and of course, a little Elvis. Dancing with Bill brought her great joy. Her family provided her great joy as well, especially the special bond she shared with her granddaughter, Madison. She also found great peace in traveling, especially to the ocean.
Donna was a woman of great faith. She was devoted to her church and was an active member of St. Patrick Church in Jaffrey; St Michael Church in Brattleboro, Vermont; and of most recent, St. Bernard Church in Keene, NH.
Donna will be missed by the many families that she touched over the years with People Helping People. She will be greatly missed by her husband of forty years, William L. “Bill” Nichols of Winchester; her son, Scott B. Pelletier and his wife, Angela, and their daughter, Madison, of Jaffrey; her daughter, Sherri L. Nichols of Winchester; her sister, Shirley Laflamme and her husband, Roger, of Winchendon, MA; two brothers, Verde “Skeeter” Hebert of Spofford, NH and Eugene “Cricket” Hebert and his wife, Julie, of Hillsborough, NH; her cousins, Elizabeth Caron and her husband, Robert “Tee”, of Rindge, NH, Anna Laflamme and her husband, Francis, of Rindge, Sandra O’Brien of Winchendon, Antonio “Tony” St. Pierre of Leominster, MA, Armand “Terry” St. Pierre and his wife, Phyllis, of Winchendon, Craig St. Pierre of Winchendon, Scott St. Pierre of Roxbury, VT, Debbie St. Pierre of Winchendon; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was predeceased by a brother, Stephen J. Hebert, in 2007, and a cousin, Mark St. Pierre in 2016.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 8, 2019 at 11:00AM in St. Patrick’s Church, 87 Main Street, Jaffrey. Burial will be in the spring in the Mountain View Cemetery, Troy, NH.
