Lura Jean Russell, 80, of Decatur, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2019. A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Russell will be on Thursday, February 7, at Parkview Baptist Church at 11:00 am with Pastor Tom Maxwell officiating. Her visitation will be on Wednesday, February 6, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Roselawn Funeral Home. Mrs. Russell will be laid to rest at Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Russell was born on February 11, 1938 in Niles, Michigan to parents, Cletis Bybee and Edythemae Clendenen Bybee. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Russell is a retiree of the US Postal Service. She was a faithful member of Parkview Baptist Church. Mrs. Russell will be missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 46 years, Malcolm Russell; sons, Cletis, Bruce, David, and Rex Russell; grandson, Michael Bradford, and brother, Lyman Bybee.
She is survived by son, Rodney Russell; daughters, Patricia Kircher and Leinette Bradford; 7 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and one sister, Ann Maxwell.
Pallbearers will be Ed Maxwell, Shane Bybee, Hank Little, John Kircher, Daniel Bradford, Bryan Bradford, and Noah Dupree.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkview Baptist Church Building Fund.
