Demetrios Raptis was born on May 16, 1926 in New York City, New York, to Spyridoula and Pericles Raptis, and passed away on February 2, 2019. He moved to Nafpaktos, Greece, as a young child, and in 1945 returned to the United States and settled in New York City. He served in the U.S. Army, then moved to Dallas, Texas, where, on September 26, 1954, he married Constance, his loving wife of 63 years. He was a life-long member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. He retired from LTV Corporation in 1990 after 35 years as an electronics inspector in the Aerospace industry. He will be remembered for his honesty, integrity and devotion to family.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Constance, and brother, Gregory. He is survived by his sons, Perry Raptis and Chris Raptis, and his grandchildren, Stephanie and Sarah. He is also survived by his sisters, Bessie Abdalas, Pauline Seretis and Harriet Koutsoyiannis.
Trisagion prayer service will be held on Thursday, February 7th, at 7:00 p.m., and funeral service on Friday, February 8th, at 10:00 a.m. at The Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 13555 Hillcrest Rd., Dallas, Texas.
