Mrs. Faith Lavern Mitchell Watson passed away peacefully at age of 85. She was born in Chicago, Illinois to the union of the late William and Lenora Smith Mitchell. She has been a resident of Mobile, Alabama since 2001. Faith began her career as an Elementary School Librarian in Clovis, New Mexico, and retired from Amarillo College in Amarillo, Texas. She had a love for books, poems and crossword puzzles. Faith enjoyed quilting during her down time. She accepted Christ as a teenager and joined Liberty Baptist Church, Chicago, Illinois, and remained active at every church she attended. While at Corinthian she was a Sunday school teacher and a dedicated mission worker. Faith loved Vacation Bible School where she taught arts and crafts.
Faith was preceded by her parents; four siblings; William O. Mitchell, Dorothy Mitchell, Marion Mitchell and Donald R. Mitchell.
Faith leaves to celebrate her memory two daughters Dinna (Allen) Ardley of Maine and Patricia Alexander and her son Geoffrey Watson both of Mobile, a son, Curtis (Scott) Elsass-Watson of Florida, two step-sons; Victor Watson of California, Reginald Watson of Illinois, eleven grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, 2 nieces of Illinois, with extended family members and many wonderful friends including Curtis Watson Sr., and Jerome Alexander.
Funeral services will be held at Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church, February 11, 2019 at 11:00 am with visitation beginning at 10:00am.
