GLADYS RUTH INMAN, age 98, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, February 4, 2019 at Swan Manor Assisted Living in Baytown, Texas. She was born on August 31, 1920 in Goose Creek, Texas to Horace Cross Sr. and Docie (Ditzenberger) Cross. She attended Lee College, graduated as an LVN and worked many years at the old San Jacinto Methodist Hospital. Gladys married the love of her life, Franklin Inman on December 3, 1938, who preceded her in death after 51 years of marriage, and also a daughter, Eva Tieman.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Penny Baker and husband Jerry; Betty Preece; Elaine Sager and husband Stephen, and son Bill Boone and wife Carol. Grandchildren Daniel West, David West, Julie Doyle, Stephanie McGowan, Kristine Sager, Jordan Sager, Jeremy Sager, Stephen Sager, Jolene Wicks and George Meyer. 12 Great-Grandchildren: Ashley Doyle, Nichole Doyle, Tyler McGowan, Lyndzie West, Dalton West, Madison West, Ashlee Boone, Timothy Boone, Matthew Boone, Taylor Wicks, Allie Wicks, Brittney Meyers, and Derek Meyer. And 4 Great- Great Grandchildren.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening on Tuesday, the 5th of February, in the chapel of Earthman Baytown, 3919 Garth Road in Baytown. A Funeral service will be offered at ten o'clock in the morning on Wednesday, the 6th of February, at the funeral home and Pastor John D. McDuff of Faith Assembly of God in Pasadena, Texas and Pastor Kevin Griffin of Cornerstone Church in Winnie, Texas will officiate the service. Interment to follow at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Road in Baytown.
