Gayle S. Fiore, age 83, died on Tuesday, February 5, 2019. From her birth on July 21, 1935 to her death on Tuesday, she loved life and all those around her to the fullest. She was born in New Orleans and was the daughter of the late Captain Joseph T. Scholl and Santa Maria Imbraguglio. She was the eldest of four children; Joseph “Timmy” Scholl, Jr., June M. Ayo, and Patricia A. “Patsy” Shows. When she was 14 years old she met the love of her life Agatino A. “Jake” Fiore. Gayle and Jake married on April 1, 1950 and spent 35 blissful years together. They founded Tony’s Hot Po-Boy’s in 1972. There, Gayle worked hard and proudly served St. Bernard Parish for 33 years.
Left to honor Gayle and remember her love are Gayle’s two children, Kathleen M. “Kathy” Ducote and Anthony A. “Tony” Fiore; six grandchildren; Michael J. “Mike” Methe, Melissa M. Barras, Even A. Fiore, Quinn A. Fiore, Jake A. Fiore, and Aubrey A. Fiore; five great-grandchildren, Randall M. “Randy” Methe, Matthew A. Methe, Holland M. “Holly” Methe, Natalia C. Barras, and Skyler R. Methe.
Gayle will be remembered by all of those who knew her as a bright and vibrant light. Out of respect, and to honor Gayle’s wishes, there will be no funeral service and only a celebration of life for her immediate family.
