Dan attended Mt. tabor grade school and Madison high school. He later attended Portland State where he majored in geology until he was offered a job from his best friends parents that he couldn't pass up. His best friends parents owned a wine business, this is where Dan's life long career of over 20 years in the wine industry began. On any given day you could find Dan in the wine department at the Wizer's grocery store in Lake Grove where he shared his wealth of knowledge of wine.
Growing up in Portland, the White family spent many summers at their favorite beach in Arcadia. Dan loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping on Mt. Hood.
Some considered Dan a walking Wikipedia, he had a photographic memory and was often stating facts about one of his passions, film. Whether it was naming actors or different directors, Dan knew the details. Saying he was a theater buff is an understatement, sometimes he would watch a movie in the theaters more than six times. Dan's favorite director was Clint Eastwood, and just to name a few of his favorite movies, The Sting and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
Survived by brother; Richard White (Rachel), sister; Ellen White, nieces; Betty Hamilton & Emily Dale, and family.
Dan will be missed by his family and especially his two very loving nieces.
