Jeremy Peter “The Chexican-Chex” Vanecek, 37, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, February 6. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Sunday with a rosary service at 7pm at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, internment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Jeremy was born October 11, 1981 in Bryan, the only son of Peter B. and Margaret (Escamilla) Vanecek and earned his stripes on February 6, 2019.
Our beloved Jer - a beautiful old soul with a golden heart who lived his life through his love for music and serving others, always wanting to share that love and those tunes with us all while ensuring he would touch our hearts and souls forever. Jer did that in such a short time and it was always - ALL GOOD!! Jer loved unconditionally and was the most loyal and trustworthy person. Always the best brother and protector to his sisters and adopted brother, and the greatest cousin to many, but most of all the greatest son and hugger of all time, and also the best friend you could ever be blessed with. So many memories we will carry with us but most especially your love of all things music, especially the Melvins, and all the concerts and Z car shows you’ve enjoyed with your Dad. For your love of Aggie Football, the Dallas Cowboys, dogs, Seinfield, and of course your most favorite food in all of the world, ketchup of course, because it goes on everything.
Jeremy is preceded in death by his grandparents, Peter P. and Tillie Vanecek, and Aurelio, Sr. and Delfina Escamilla. He is survived by his parents, Peter and Margaret Vanecek; sister, Amanda Lynn Vanecek; cousin/sister, Cielle Chevalier; adopted brother, Dennis Fry, Godparents, Bobby Escamilla and Janet Pierce, and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and a host of friends.
