Elizabeth “Beth” Melton, 59, of Raytown, MO, passed on February 7. Service will be held at Faith Presbyterian Church, 8301 James A. Road, Raytown, MO on Saturday, February 16 at 2:00 pm with visitation at 1:00.
Survivors include her husband, Kevin Melton, Daughters, Joann Knight Fitzgerald (Phil), and Julia Fitzgerald, Lawrence, KS; Step-Daughter, Deardra Melton of Pleasant Hill, MO; Grandchildren - Alexandra and Dixie Knight-Fitzgerald, Lawrence, KS; Joe Lee Vice, Pleasant Hill, MO, Bella Grace Post, Lee’s Summit, MO, and Conroy Titon Burd, Pleasant Hill, MO; Sister, Elaine Bloukos (Ted) of Boca Raton, FL; Brother, William Baker (Tina), Calverton, NY, aunts, uncles, cousins, many nieces, nephews and friends.
We are comforted knowing she has joined her parents, Bob & Jane Baker and precious daughter, Lynsey Fitzgerald.
Beth graduated from Boca Raton High School and received her BA degree from Kansas University in 1982. She was a Very dedicated Jayhawk!
Beth was a dedicated teacher with the Blue Valley Public Schools where she worked at Indian Valley Elementary School in Overland Park, KS. She worked with children with special needs as well as with independent autistic children and their families.
Serving children with special needs and in particular those challenged with autism, was her passion. She enjoyed spending time with her “special” children
