Betty was born October 3, 1926 in LaPorte, IN, to Claude and Edith (Blohm) Wisenbaugh. She married the love of her life, Lloyd J. Belter on February 14, 1946 in Ottumwa, IA.
Betty was employed by Slagle Foods as store manager, retiring after 11 years of service. One of her greatest joys was serving the children of the Little Blessings Day Care since it’s opening in 1997. She was also a dedicated member and volunteer of The Risen Christ Church in Davenport.
Betty was the beloved mother of Gerald “Jerry” (Maggie) Belter, Davenport, IA., Barbara (Belter) Goulet, Denver, IA., and Dennis (Janet) Belter, Glendale, AZ; loving grandmother of Michelle (Lee) Rizzo, Todd Goulet, Jessica Belter, and Travis (Jennifer) Belter; great grandmother of Nicholas Edwards, Cady Edwards, John Stafford, Sydney Stafford, Makayla Rizzo, and Aubrey Belter. She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Lloyd, sister, Dorothy Pierce, brother, James Wisenbaugh, granddaughter Shannon Goulet Stafford, great grandson Alec, and her dear friend Vonnie LaFrenz.
To her many friends at The Risen Christ Lutheran Church and Little Blessings Day Care, thank you for your kindness, your understanding and your friendship. You held a special place in Betty’s heart. May God continue to bless you.
To a spectacular neighbor and cherished friend, Sandra Matson, many thanks for being the watchful eye, the mail deliverer, dinner sharer, and bringing Bamby Sue for her daily treats.
