He was born to Henry DeWitt and Florence Viola (Milliron) Bell near Buffalo, Kansas on December 4, 1920.
The family moved to Keenesburg in 1927. Bill graduated from Prospect Valley School in 1939.
Bill farmed all his life with the exception of 3 ½ years in the Army during World War II. He never married but loved to play tricks on his nieces and nephews who loved him. He also participated in the good-natured banter at his cousin Ken Barney’s garage and gas station.
Bill was a member of the church of Christ congregation in Keenesburg. He is survived by his two brothers, Donald (Marry Ellen) of Greeley, and Forrest of Keenesburg, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister Ileene (Ed) Kerbs, and brothers; Virgil, Dayton and Otis Bell.
A graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at the Heart of the Plains Cemetery, 38044 County Road 16, Roggen, Colorado 80652.
