“Jock”
A lifetime resident of Annapolis passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2019 due to a very short bout with pancreatic cancer.
Born on August 1, 1939 to Ms. Leta Taylor Peret. Jock graduated from Annapolis High School in 1957 and served in the United States Army.
He was a local postal carrier in his early years, then retired in 1992 as a Postal Operations Specialist in the Engineering Unit of the U.S Postal Service in Baltimore.
Post retirement, he worked for Taylor Electric as well as the General Assembly in the mail room and the bill room.
He enjoyed power boating & restoring classic mustangs.
He was a member of the BPOE Elks club in Annapolis and the Eastport Democratic Club.
Jock was dedicated to his family, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, wife of 56 years, Susan Reed Peret, and his son Jon Reed Peret.
He is survived by his daughter, Hilary Susan Peret and loving grandfather “Poppie” to his granddaughters, Taylor Kaye Moreland, Alison Margaret Moreland and Leta Catherine Peret as well as his siblings Dick Peret and Alma Ruth Allender.
Family and friends are invited to the John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Glouchester Street, Annapolis on Wednesday February 13th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A funeral service will also be held at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home on Thursday February 14th at 12pm with burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
