She is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, Charles, and by two sons, Chuck and David, a daughter-in-law, Jennifer, and a sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Earl Walker of Jackson, MS. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Ashlyn, Amberly, Brett, and Beverly Portero, all of Tallahassee, and by many nieces, nephews, and extended family in Jackson, MS and surrounding areas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William O. and Quinnie Toland, and by two sisters and two brothers: William G. Toland, Margie Toland Palmer, Johnny Ray Toland, and Ruth Toland McCardle.
Originally from Mendenhall, Mississippi, Ann was married in 1960 and graduated from Mississippi College in 1961. After graduating, she taught English and Latin in Mississippi, South Carolina, and Florida. She retired from teaching in 1994, and enjoyed playing piano, gardening, and traveling in her retirement Ann was a member of the Tallahassee Garden Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution, and played bells at East Hill Baptist Church.
She is remembered as a loving sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, committed to providing a loving home for her family and offering respect to everyone. Her love for life and adventure were instilled in her family.
Visitation will be held Tuesday February 12, 2019 from 5-7 at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road. Memorial Service will be held 10am on Wednesday February 13, 2019 at the same location.
