Eileen (Abrams) Paul, 77, of Killingworth, formerly of Bethel, VT & New Haven, CT passed away Wednesday February 13, 2019 next to her husband of 55 years, Leonard Paul. Born in Brooklyn, NY December 11th, 1941. Eileen was the daughter of Francis & Beatrice Abrams, sister to Annaree Moss (Bloomington, IN) and Bud Abrams (Bear Creek, PA).
Eileen was a loving wife to Leonard, a caring Mother to her three children, Leonard (Jennifer) Elizabeth (Mick), & Brian (Nicole) and most importantly a BaBa to her seven grandchildren, Lenny, Elizabeth, Johnny, Ella, Grant, Zoe and Audra.
Aside from her family, Eileen loved the simple pleasures in life that we sometimes take for granted, finishing that last page of a book or delving into a crossword (that she always did in pen). Eileen also loved music and every visit would have James Taylor, The Eagles, or something new her brother, Buddy had sent her. Her days were not complete without a phone call from her sister Annaree, proving a thousand miles can never break the bonds of sisters.
As parents, Eileen and Len raised their children on Grafton St in a home filled with love, laughter, happiness. Here they raised their family and created a lifetime of memories. Although they have only three kids, she was called Mom by many and she always loved hearing “Hi Mrs Paul” because she knew it was a friend of her children. After retiring, Eileen and Len moved to Bethel, VT on a Property aptly named Paul’s Peak. Here she could be found out in the garden, going for a walk, reading, or making room on a shelf for yet another yard sale “treasure”. But of these, her favorite thing to do was wait at the top of the road when her children and grandchildren came to visit.
Eileen will be remembered as a woman who loved life and always entered a room with a warm smile. A Mom, Friend, Wife, and BaBa.
The family invites you to join them in a celebration of Life for Eileen on Saturday, March 9th, 2019. Swans Funeral Home in Clinton. 10am calling hours, 11am service and a reception to follow at The Holy Advent Episcopal Church in Clinton.
