Born in Havana, Cuba on July 3, 1936 Jorge lived his life driven by a passion for working hard and most of all, for his family.
Jorge was a person we could all look to, be inspired by, and take something that he did and make it part of us. Jorge will be remembered for his strong work ethic, an attribute which took him from the streets of Queens, New York to the plush suburbs of Caracas, Venezuela.
He was always humble, a trait which won the hearts and respect of all those with whom he worked or knew him socially. He will be remembered for his loyalty - as he never forgot a birthday or the good deeds of an old friend; Jorge is leaving a trail of people who cared about him and loved him. His perseverance and his positive attitude saw him triumph over all of his life's obstacles with a smile! Jorge never looked back - only forward. And last but not least, he will be remembered for his integrity. Jorge was a man with a strong moral compass and high principles. One only has to look at those closest to him in order to see what kind of person he was. His guidance and support will be forever missed.
Whichever it was, Jorge had something we could all walk away with to make us a better person. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many around the world. He believed it was always better to help others than to ask for help for oneself.
Jorge is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Berta "Bibi", his three children, Jorge, Karinna and Charlie, and his three adoring grandchildren, Eleonora, Samuel and Anabelle. He was respected and loved also by his son-in-law, Raymond Levy, and his daughters-in-law, Christine and Marina. There will be a private memorial on Thursday to celebrate his life.
