Auburn – Irene C. Biron, 92, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday February 18, 2019 at Clover Manor with her loving family at her side. Irene was born in Lewiston on July 4, 1926, a daughter of the late Pierre and Adrienne (Morin) Chouinard. After graduating from Lewiston High School in the Class of 1944, she married Robert (Bob) Biron in 1945. The couple remained in Lewiston raising their family, where for nearly four decades, Irene worked in different positions; including, Bates Manufacturing, Raytheon quality control, administrative duties at the Maine state legislature, Androscoggin County administrative duties and personel training and the University of Maine Bookstore. Retiring in 1982, she continued to enjoy her hobbies. She had a new found love of water color painting at Clover with Nancy. She particularly enjoyed the many clubs and organizations she was involved with; including the Bambi Club, Democratic Voting Poll Ward 6, La Survivance Francaise, Ladies of Holy Cross Parish, the Red Hat Society, La Rencontre and Senior Plus.
Irene is survived by her 8 children: Joanne Coleman ( Ronald), Jackie Veilleux (Paul), Joline Bradbury, Daniel Biron (Corie), Janet Ouellette (Leo), Judy Dolley (Mickey), Joyce Megathlin (Craig) and Donald Biron (Gina). Irene’s life was blessed by her many grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and great-greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Irene was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Robert (Bob) Biron who passed away in 1990, her great aunt: Eugenie Boulay, brother: Ray Chouinard, and great grandson: Malcolm Burke.

Visitation will be held at The Fortin Group Funeral Home in Lewiston on Friday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Saturday at Holy Cross Church at 11:00 AM followed by Committal Services at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Lewiston.
