Annette Taggart Brock, born in St. Louis, Missouri, November 15 of 1933 to Charles and Veda Taggart began her journey into what would become a full and rich life.
Annie, as she was called by the many who loved her, lived with an attitude and spirit of quality, service and adventure. Before moving to North Carolina she resided in Missouri for seventy years. Her range of newsletter writings were nationally recognized, as were locally her volunteering services to the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW, O’Fallon Senior Center, Meals on Wheels and many more. Her talents were myriad - especially in regard to painting, books, flowers, world travels, puzzles involving the creative application of words, quilting, and ballroom dancing in the early years. Before retirement, she worked in the banking profession.
She leaves a legacy of life and the art of purposeful living to her children: daughter Cynthia Schwane of Southport, North Carolina, son-in-law Robert Schwane of Raleigh, North Carolina and John D. Lindner (wife Margaret) of Warrenton, Virginia; grandchildren: Nicholas Schwane (wife Brandi), Meredith Schwane of Durham, North Carolina and Robert “Robbie” Lindner of Warrenton, Virginia. “Cookie” is also survived by great-grandchildren Paxton Schwane, Rhodes Deaton, and Knox Schwane. Annie lovingly leaves behind her darling and jollying friend, Rea Singer.
And we who morn, rejoice that on this day, into the majesty of eternity she is reunited with the absolute love of her life, William Harris.
Go with grace our mother, mentor, and friend. Go in peace our well-beloved.
Cremation services are being provided by Peacock - Newnam and White Funeral and Cremation Service of Southport, North Carolina.
In memoriam, donations can be made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care House, 955 Mercy Lane SE, Bolivia, NC 28422.
