Katherine Louise(Bell) Hastings (Kittie Lou), age 84, of Curran, Michigan passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2019. Katherine was born on December 28, 1934 in Alpena, Michigan to Thomas and Margaret Bell. She graduated from Alpena High School in 1953, and then went onto Michigan State University.
Kittie met Bob at Michigan State and were married July 21, 1956. Together they raised their beautiful children, Pam Albright, Scott Hastings, Kevin Hastings, Jennifer Candela, in Farmington Hills. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, being a girl scout leader, golfing, camping, reading, arts and crafts, and putting together puzzles. She especially enjoyed spending time at the Covered Bridge camp. She also loved spending time with her 8 grandchildren, Carolyn, Jackie, Matthew, Justin, Katie, Lisa, Stephen, Christopher; and 16 great grandchildren, Gavin, Taylor, Kennedy, Levi, Mason, Jillian, Stella, James, Grant, Morgan, Mya, Elizabeth, Charlie, Haley, Savannah, Olivia. She was predeceased by her sister, Madge, brother Richard, brother in-law Arthur Hastings, brother in-law Daniel Sheppard, and great grandson Joshua.
Bob and Kittie enjoyed traveling to Alaska, Hawaii, and throughout the United States, from cruises to road trips, or just making up the itinerary as they went. Upon retirement, they built their dream home on the lake in the middle of no where. They resided there for 20 years, their little piece of paradise. She is survived by her husband of 62 years Bob, her sister Barbara Sheppard, her four children Pam, Scott, Kevin (Laurie), Jennifer (Stephen) and their families, cousins, and numerous nieces and nephews.
