She was born on November 7, 1924, in Philadelphia, PA, to Harry Warburton and Caroline Schmid, graduating from Germantown High School where she met the love of her life, James Hubert Howarth Jr. They married on February 7, 1947, after he returned from WWII. They raised their two daughters in Philadelphia, Newark, Delaware, Williamstown, Massachusetts, later moving to Delran, NJ. Her husband predeceased her in 1979, when she moved to Bourne, MA and later Ocean City, NJ.
She made a point of staying connected to many friends they gathered in these communities, as well as volunteering as Sunday School teacher, Girl Scout Leader, and using her musical talent to sing in choirs, community choral groups, accompanist for her high school chorus, churches, civic organizations and in later years, the Bourne Schools. She was always ready to help those in need with monetary donations, visits, chauffeuring, and food. She was a perfect homemaker and loved to drive and travel.
She leaves behind her loving family: sister, Carolyn Zwarg; daughter Elizabeth Carol and husband Douglas Allen, their children, Amanda Hook, and Jared Allen, great granddaughters, Alexandria and Danicka, great grandsons Gabe and Bradley; and daughter Susan Mae and husband Charles Kenneth Noyes, their children, Wendy Noyes and Karen and husband James Martino, great grandsons James and Charles. She was predeceased by her sister, Virginia Bergey, and sister-in-law, Jean Howarth.
