Mary (Andreozzi) Fairman, aged 92, of Manahawkin, NJ, formerly a long-time resident of Fair Lawn, NJ passed away at Southern Ocean Hospital in Manahawkin, NJ on March 1, 2019.
Mary was born on November 8, 1926 in Paterson, NJ. She was a devoted daughter, caring for her parents for many years. She then married Ronald Fairman in 1967, and lived in Phillipsburg, NJ. She was widowed a few years later, and returned to Paterson. She decided to become a nurse in her late forties. She attained her GED, and then graduated from Bergen County Vocational School of Practical Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Mary was a dedicated nurse at Preakness Nursing Home in Wayne, NJ for 20 years, providing loving care for the elderly and disabled. She often said her nursing years were the most rewarding of her life.
The most important thing in Mary’s life was her deep and abiding faith and trust in God. This faith helped her meet every challenge with equanimity. She began and ended each day with a recitation of the Rosary. She was a member of St. Mary of the Pines in Manahawkin, never missing weekly mass and observance of Holy Days.
Mary was a devoted daughter, sister, and aunt. She was a loving godmother to the many children of her siblings. Mary loved holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her. She especially enjoyed time with the little ones. Mary enjoyed dining out, was a lifelong Yankees fan, and loved to visit the casinos in Atlantic City. She was known for her good sense of humor, ready smile, kindness and understanding. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
Mary is survived by nieces Anna Di Ienno, Valerie Miller, and nephews Louis Andreozzi, Thomas Bianchi, and Steven Miller, great-nieces Debbie Stanziano, Erica Amato and Jennifer Hahn, as well as their children and grand-children.
Viewing will be held at St. Mary of the Pines Church, 100 Bishop Way, Manahawkin on Thursday March 7, at 11:00-12:00 pm followed by Mass at 12:00 pm.
