89 years old of Kansas City Mo was born August 5, 1929 in Wichita Ks to Robert Howard and Delta J Howard. He passed quietly in the night at home on March 6 at 1:15am fighting a long battle of cancer.
Services will be at Floral Hills Funeral Home located at 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd Kansas Mo 64133 Visitation at 1 pm and funeral at 2 pm on March 11 2019. Burial will be in Floral Hills cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Phoenix Hospice 14330 E 42nd St S Independence Mo 64055.
James attended to 2 years at Kansas City Art Institute after High School.
He was employed as a Commercial artist making highway billboards; he drew daily in some art form other activities he enjoyed ping pong at the Truman Center in Independence playing once or twice a week.
He spent a lot of time on his metal lathe and also working in wood. In his youth he helped his father build 3 houses. He was very shy but extremely intelligent.
One of his past times was reading the dictionary he could spell the word give you the meaning and how to use it. He belonged to the Independence and Raytown Art Clubs. He was also a member of the weaver’s guild of Greater Kansas City.
James is survived by his wife Linda Cole Howard and 2 step sons Raymond Payton and Stephen Payton. James parents preceded him in death Robert, Delta and Brother David.
