Maria Salvatrice (Romaniello) Bello, 92, of Wethersfield, beloved wife for 57 years of the late Amato Bello, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Hartford Hospital with her loving family by her side.
Born in Montella, province of Avellino, Italy on October 20, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Aquille and Vicencina (Dellobuono) Romaniello. After WWII, Maria and Amato moved to Uruguay, where they raised their son before coming to the U.S. Maria worked in the cafeteria at Aetna Insurance Company for more than 10 years, retiring 35 years ago. She enjoyed crocheting and gifting family and friends with the beautiful blankets and clothing she made.
Maria was happiest when she was surrounded by her family. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be forever missed by her son, Carmelo Bello of Wethersfield; three adored grandchildren, Adriana Roscio and husband Mark of Old Saybrook, Natalia Morabito and husband Joseph of Rocky Hill and Carmelo Bello of Rocky Hill and four cherished great-grandchildren, Aaron, Alyssa and Annalisa Morabito and Mark Roscio. She is also survived by her brother, Alfonso Romaniello; her sister, Pipinella Romaniello; her brother-in-law Giovani Bellizzi and his wife Filomena and their children Jerry Bellizzi and his wife Laura and Teresa Jylkka and her husband Jeff and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will leave Saturday (March 9) at 10:30 a.m. from the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Christ the King Parish (Corpus Christi Church), 601 Silas Deane Hwy., Wethersfield. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Family and friends may call on Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
