After serving in the United States Army, Tom married his wife, Carolyn, in 1949. She predeceased him on Feb. 11, 2019.
He was also predeceased by two brothers, Bud and Benjamin Williams; and a sister, June Ritton.
He is survived by sisters, Marion VanEtton of Westford and Lois Brunsmidt of Morris; son, Ken Williams and Amy (Rice) Williams, grandchildren, Harden, Wynn and Lawson Williams; daughter, Donna Williams, granddaughter, Carrie Brown and her fiance, John Mullin and great-grandchildren, Hayley and Logan; son, Brian and Carmen (Martinez) Williams, grandchildren, Nathan and Dawn (Bown) Williams, great-grandson, Colton; grandson, Corey and Amber (Cohn) Williams and great-grandchildren, Ava and Gabriel.
Tom studied engineering, graduated from Indiana Technical College, returned to New York and eventually resumed logging, the work he loved.
Tom was avid reader, private pilot and successful farmer. He will be best remembered for his sense of humor, hard work, confident nature and ability to fix or build just about anything. He was extremely proud of his family and the "tracks he left on this earth." He enjoyed flying, fishing, seeing things grow and vigorous debate.
In keeping with Tom's wishes, no formal services will be held at this time. A celebration will be held at a date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Schenevus-Maryland Fire Department in Tom's name.
