Anna was a resident of Olympia, WA for most of her adult life. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 7, 2019, twenty-four days before her 94th birthday, at Foster Meadows Adult Family Home, Bremerton.
Anna was born March 31, 1925, to Nils and Gladys Bolstad of Stady, ND. Her father died when she was two years old. She was raised by her stepfather and her mother on their farm, and attended a rural school through 8th grade.
She married Obert Henry Hagge on April 14, 1946 in Plentywood, Montana. In their early years of marriage they lived in numerous places in the United States, eventually settling in Washington State. They settled first in Vancouver, WA where Anna took an active part in Church activities, was a leader in Girl Scouts and a Cub Scouts, and taught Sunday School.
She completed her high school education in Mossyrock, WA where she graduated with National Honors in three years. She continued her education at Centralia Community College, where she completed courses for Practical Nursing and received her certification. She worked at both Centralia Hospital and St. Peter's Hospital in Olympia for many years.
After retirement, they built a house in Olympia, WA. They did some traveling, international and domestic. She was actively involved at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd for many years, and a member of the Piece Corps and other volunteer activities. Anna enjoyed sewing, read voraciously, liked dancing, and loved her plants, tending her flowers both inside and outside. Anna loved the out of doors, camping at the mountains or beaches, and spent a lot of time with children and grandchildren at various campgrounds.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, and great-great-grandma, survived by two daughters: Sherry (Steve) Rhoden of Madison, SD and Christine (Roger) Morrow of Puyallup, WA; two sons: Saunder Hagge of Bremerton, WA and Greg (Sue) Hagge of Port Townsend, WA; five grandkids, seven great-grandkids, and two great-great-grandkids. She has a brother and sister residing in OR. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, one grandchild, three brothers and one sister.
A Memorial for Anna will be held March 23, 2019 at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1pm. Cremation and burial will be at the family plot at Mills and Mills Cemetery in Tumwater, WA.
