Vernon “Chief” Edwards, 76, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2019. Chief was born in Whiteriver, Arizona on October 23, 1942 as a member of the White Mountain Apache Tribe. Chief worked for Siler & Son Tree Services as a landscaper. He enjoyed spending his free time at the VA playing Bingo or at the Isle of Capris playing slots. He was also a proficient guitar player as well as pool player and, at one time, was a member of a league. He always had a warm cup of coffee as well as a warm smile. He will be deeply missed. Chief is survived by his niece, Sarah Harrison and her Fiancé Micheal Barajas and their children, Jorden, Jayden, and Jaxen; His best-friends Jimmy and Sharon and their children, Bozo, Melissa, and Teresa; as well as multitude of other friends and acquaintances to cherish his memory.
A Funeral service in Chief's honor will be conducted on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 3:00 PM, with a visitation starting at 2:00 PM at Church-Archer-Pasley Funeral Home, 119 East Franklin Street, Liberty, Missouri 64068. Burial will be in Leavenworth National Cemetery.
