Marilyn L. Murphy, 84, of Largo, FL, passed away peaceful surrounded by her loving friends on Thursday, March 7, 2019. Born April 29, 1934, in Kenosha, Wisconsin she was the daughter of the late Floyd E. and Emma (Rudy) Thwing. Marilyn was a graduate of Kenosha High School in January 1952. In 1958 she moved to Florida.
On September 23, 1978, she married her true love Brian J. Murphy. He preceded her in death on July 19, 2008. Prior to 1978, Marilyn had been married to Glenn Hoffman and Jerry Peoples.
Marilyn was a very loving, selfless, and prayerful woman. Marilyn was a hearing aid specialist for many years in the St. Petersburg area. One of her greatest joys was being a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Largo, where she had a special love of singing. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 273, Madeira Beach. Marilyn was also a devoted fan of the Tampa Bay Rays.
Marilyn is survived by her brother’s children, nieces, Cheryl Schmitz and Janell Thwing of Wisconsin, Nadine Thwing of Colorado and many other loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Brian and siblings, Dolores Frost and Floyd (Bud) Thwing and nephew, R. Michael Thwing.
Visitation for Marilyn will be held on Friday March 29, 2019 at Christ the King Lutheran Church 11220 Oakhurst Road, Largo from 4:00pm until the time of funeral service at 5:00pm. Interment will be private.
