Mary B. Olivas, 93, of Duarte, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2019. She was born August 8, 1925 to Selso and Luisa Franco. Mary met her husband, the love of her life, Frank (Buck), and they were married 51 years before his passing in 2002. Mary and Buck had three children, Alfonso (Karla), Anthony (Sue) and Rebecca Mejia. She always took great pride as a mother and wife. During their life together they loved to spend time traveling; Buck always liked to take a Sunday drive. Mary traveled to the Holy Land in 1975 with her Mother. She also traveled to Spain, Italy and France with her Immaculate Conception Church to visit the Vatican and saw John Paul II. She enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas with her sister Cuca. She was an avid bowler and at one time was on two teams. Her bowling took her to Las Vegas twice a year for tournaments. Mary left a legacy of faith and love that will last us a lifetime.
Mary is survived by her children, Al, Tony and Becky; 7 grandchildren, Todd, Dominick, April, Scott, Travis, Renee and Amy; and 8 great-grandchildren; her sisters Ruth Brito, Kicha Franco, Lupe Berrera, and Vicky Miranda, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Eleanor Arvizu and brother Sal Franco.
Rosary will be held (no viewing) at 6 pm at Live Oak Mortuary, 200 East Duarte Rd., Monrovia, CA 91016 and Catholic Mass Services will be held Friday March 15, 10:00; at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 726 S. Shamrock Ave., Monrovia, CA 91016.
