Frances Janet McQueen, of Hoover, Alabama, whose 87 year old body finally gave out on March 9, 2019, now is in her new body with God our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior and Jake, her sweet and loving husband. She is looking forward to one day reuniting with her five children and their spouses, 7 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren, 1 brother, 2 sisters, her loving companion, and their families, and numerous friends and loved ones.
Frances is survived by her children Elizabeth Bailey (Larry), Cindy Harmon (Dick), Jacob H. McQueen Jr. (Fran), and Jennifer McDowell (David); her brother John Robert Lewis; her sisters Cecilia Meads and Shirlee Ellis; her grandchildren Bill Roden (Shelley), Quinn White, Chris White, Allison McQueen, Caroline McQueen, Wesley Harmon (Larisa), and Ryan McDowell; great-grandchildren Will, Robbie, Hannah Grace, Cooper, and Finn; loving companion Mr. Billy Williams and family; as well as extended relatives and friends.
Frances was preceded in passing by her husband, the love of her life, Jacob H. McQueen Sr. and daughter Janet Rubin.
Frances was a sweet, giving, and loving woman. While she worked various jobs throughout her lifetime, her proudest title was "Mom" to her 5 children. Frances was a talented cook with a passion for Southern style cooking. She wrote a cook book that has been passed on to many family members and friends. Frances was always very giving of her time and resources. She was known for making Easter baskets for Oak Mountain Missions & Ministry. Frances and her late husband Jacob had a close group of friends they called the "Soup Group" with whom they made many wonderful memories. For the last few years of Frances' life, she enjoyed the company of her companion, Mr. Billy Williams, and his family. Frances will be deeply missed but never forgotten by her family and friends.
A visitation for Frances will be held Saturday, March 16, 2019 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, Alabama 35124. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 AM. Burial at Southern Heritage Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the many wonderful caregivers of Alacare, St. Vincent's physicians and nursing staff, and the Pastor (Major Trammell and wife April) and members of Overton Church for their care and love of Frances.
