Rose L. Bowen was born in Houston Texas, September 1, 1946. She was the fourth child of Catherine and Jeremiah Cameron. In 1956, Jeremiah moved his family to the southwest. The family lived for a while in both, Welton and Somerton before settling in Yuma. Arizona. During her formative years Rose was a product of the Yuma school system. To her union with Leon Bowen, her beloved children were born Antionette, Vanessa, and Leon Bowen. Rose was a loving wife and mother. She worked for Child Protective Services; championing the rights of children. In 1974 she committed her life to Christ. She was active in her church as a prayer warrior and teacher. Later she became a missionary and Licensed Evangelist. She was a Clinical Pastoral graduate from the Association of Professional Chaplains. She was a Resident Chaplain at Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC) In 2003 she relocated to Casa Grand, Arizona and became a member of New Hope COGIC under the leadership of Pastor Harvey Young, now Bishop of the Arizona Jurisdiction COGIC. There she served in the Women’s Ministry of New Hope, teaching and inspiring the women of God. God called her back to Yuma in 2014 where even from her bedside she prayed for and inspired all she met. This became her final resting place. She leaves to mourn her passing: Two children, Vanessa Bowen of Atlanta, GA, Leon Bowen Jr. of Yuma. Arizona; two brothers, Jerry Cameron (Joyce) of Phoenix, Arizona and Daniel Cameron of Yuma, Arizona, and four sisters; Merri L. Reed (John) of Wichita, Kansas, Sylvia Telefaro, of San Diego, Clotiel Henderson (Alfonso) of Phoenix, Arizona and Pauline Cameron of Yuma, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her father, Jeremiah Cameron, her Mother Catherine Cameron, her daughter, Antoinette Evans, her brothers William Johnson, Robert Cameron, and sisters; Christine Bowen, and Willie Mae Harris and brother-in-law, Robert Harris.
