Marcus Randall Young, or Styx to his family and friends, and was born on Sunday, October 8th, 1961 in Muskogee, OK, the son of Kenneth and Lois Marie (Ryder) Young. He grew up with three brothers and one sister, Donnie, Mike, Bobby Joe, and Sherry Jo. He attended school at Hulbert, graduating in 1979, and then decided on a job as a carpenter. When he wasn’t working, he was riding his Harley Davidson, hunting for arrowheads, and playing some of the best rock music on his guitar. Styx had a great personality, and an even better sense of humor. He made friends easily; he was just that easy to be around. There was no doubt he had a big heart, and if it was his to give, all you had to do was ask. He was usually in the company of his canine companions, they were constant company. Styx adored his family, they were his rock. Any chance to spend time with them was a perfect day. For all he had planned, his life was brief, and Styx went to his rest on Friday March 8th, 2019 in Tulsa, OK, following a brief illness. He was 57 years old, and will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his father, one brother Bobby Joe Young, one sister Sherry “Jo” McNeil, and his grandparents.
Those left to cherish his company and his memory include his son, Cody Young of Hulbert, his mother, Lois Marie (Ryder) Ridenhour of Hulbert, two brothers, Donnie Ridenhour of Hulbert and Mike Young of Hulbert, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
