He was born in Fargo, ND on March 7, 1939. As a child, he spent many happy summers on his grandparent’s farm. He married Mary Sondag on May 21, 1960 in Sykeston, ND. The couple met while Eugene was enrolled at Interstate Business College. He attended with Mary’s sister, Darlene. Only after a few dates, he pulled out his calendar and stated “I’m going to marry you on May 21, 1960” and he did.
The couple moved to Colorado in 1966. He went back to college in 1968 and received a degree for Accounting from Park School of Business. He worked for Adams County Mental Health for about 10 years after graduating. Eugene worked as an accountant for Jefferson County Community Center for 21 years before retiring in 1999. He also had a Tax business for 52 years during that time. Eugene continued his Tax business until 2017.
