Bessie Marie Ingram Langford was born February 6, 1936, to Robert Edward and Bessie Zella Ingram in Thomasville, NC. She graduated from Church Street High School. Her call into eternal rest was answered on Wednesday March 13, 2019, at the home of her eldest daughter Pallas Langford, Kernersville, NC.
At a young age she moved to New York for employment and stayed to get married and raise her family. She later returned to North Carolina and turned her love for working with children into her employment. She worked for Baptist Children’s home and St. Peter’s World Outreach Center’s child development centers.
Bessie became a member of St. Peter’s World Outreach Center and started working in the church as a greeter, joined the choir and the Mother’s Board. She was a faithful and devoted member.
Bessie was united in Holy Matrimony with Trevor Ambrose Langford on February 23, 1963 and was blessed with four children. Bessie was preceded in death by her four brothers Robert Edward Ingram Jr., John Gilbert Ingram, Gene Austin Ingram, and Robert Lee Ingram.
Her legacy will be cherished by her children, Pallas Langford of Kernersville, NC, Michael Langford (Sherry) of Mt. Airy, NC, Beverly Everett (Shawn) of Winston Salem, NC, Valerie McCray (Reginald) of New Bern, NC, two sisters Dorothy Alexander of MD, and Mary McFadden of Thomasville, NC, Grandchildren Shannon McDuffie, Samantha Haynes, Rachael Everett, Breanna Everett, Chao Everett, Ariel McCray, Regina McCray and Reginald McCray II and four great grandchildren LeShawn Phillips Kamdyn Phillips, LeShea Phillips, Aria Haynes and a host of nieces and nephews friends and extend family members.
A visitation for Bessie will be held Wednesday, March 20, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Thomasville Funeral Home, 18 Randolph Street, Thomasville, North Carolina 27360. A funeral service will occur Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 12:00 PM at St. Peter's World Outreach Center, 3683 Old Lexington Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27107.
