Norma Ritzer was born in Manchester, England in 1926. She had memories of WWII which included nightly air raids and evacuating regularly to local bomb shelters, while waiting out the raids often people were singing and sharing food. She volunteered with the Red Cross as a teenager. In her early years she enjoyed swing dancing and big band music. She sailed over to America on the Queen Mary and lived and worked in Manhattan taking on various jobs. Norma was married to Leonard Ritzer for 50 years and had 4 children Aaron, Susan, Martin and Leslie. She spent the last ten years of her life living with her daughter laughing dancing and singing and quite happy because her daughter Leslie was able to stay home and be Norma’s primary caregiver. Together they shared in many of the arts along with Aaron whom also lived with Norma during these years. Norma’s eyes always sparkled because she loved life, family and all animals. She was always filled with love and laughter and Norma will be greatly missed she was a genuine treasure that time will not erase.
