Julia Lanette Lovern Suttles passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2019 after a wonderful life. She was the daughter of Henry Kaylor and Frances Rebecca Lovern. She attended Hapeville High School and Georgia State University. While at Georgia State, she met Doctor William M. Suttles. They married in 1950 and were married 53 years. He preceded her in death in 2003. Dr. Suttles was President at Georgia State University and they served the Haralson Baptist Church for 49 years, and Luthersville Baptist Church for 11 years. Mrs. Suttles taught at Marion Smith Elementary School in Fulton County for 34 years. Her students were a joy to her until her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Mark Lovern. She is survived by Mrs. Ruth S. Corley; Scott Corley; Mr. and Mrs. Rick Land; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Crush and Jake; Mr. and Mrs. Kytle Frye; and Mr. and Mrs. Brad Frye. She is also survived by her beloved neighbors, Frank Middlebrooks and Denise and Bob Farmer.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 28 at Owl Rock United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Interment to follow service in the church cemetery.
