Abilio (Bill) Morais of Stockton, CA, died on March 29th, 2019, at the age of 93. He was born in Ryde, CA, in 1925 and grew up on his father’s farm in the Sacramento River delta. He attended Terminous School, and graduated from Stockton High School. After serving in the Navy in World War II, he graduated from Stockton Junior College, where he met Margaret Chrislu; they were married in 1948. Margaret predeceased Bill in 2012, after 62 happily married years together.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Bill farmed for over 60 years until retiring at age 80. He was influential in the farming community, serving on several boards, and was often interviewed in the local papers on agricultural issues.
Bill was beloved by those who knew him, and had a wicked sense of humor and a love for life. Bill loved music and his fondness for opera was well known. He loved traveling and visiting with his children. He was a dedicated outdoorsman and loved camping, hunting and fishing with his family and friends.
He was a kind and generous person, always willing to lend a hand to a person in need. He was a good man and a true friend to those lucky enough to know him. Bill’s family and friends miss him greatly.
