BAURIN, Benjamin Emile “Benny” - 20, of Head of Chezzetcook, passed away on April 2, 2019 at the QE11 Halifax Infirmary. Born in Halifax, he is the son of Bruno Baurin and Christine (Cormier) Baurin. Ben had the biggest heart, the kindest soul and he was a friend to all who knew him. Ben loved spending time outdoors, enjoyed hiking and playing fetch with his beloved border collie, Archer. Ben was very athletic and was most passionate about baseball and volleyball. He gladly served his community as a volunteer firefighter with Station 23, Chezzetcook and helping others in their time of need. He was employed by Canadian Air Transport Security Authority at Stanfield International Airport and always knew how to make his co-workers smile. He is survived by his loving parents, Bruno and Christine, his brothers Samuel, Toronto and Caleb, at home, maternal grandmother Marie-Mai Nowlan, paternal grandparents Charles and Renée Baurin, and aunt, Lisa Fraser (Warren Killeen). Ben was predeceased by maternal grandfather, Emile Cormier. The Family would like to thank the first responders who were with Ben in his time of need. A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, April 7, 2019 from 1pm-3pm at the A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland St, Dartmouth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dartmouth SPCA. Cremation has taken place with internment at Dartmouth Memorial Gardens at a later date.
