Funeral service will be 2 pm Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Alexandria Valley Church of God, 401 Alexandria Wellington Road, Alexandria, AL 36250 with Rev. Byron Duke, Rev. Charles Hornyak and Rev. Sam Legon officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 - 8 pm at the church.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Charlotte McCombs Parris, son, Shane Parris (Kim), daughter, Shannon Ford (Rodney), brother, Kenneth Parris (Esther), grandchildren, Colby Parris (Summer) and Jarrett Ford, great-granddaughter, Hartlee Parris, numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Ford, Jarrett Ford, Colby Parris, Treston Parris, Brian Clements and Hunter Clements. Honorary pallbearers will be Carlton McCombs, Chad Clements, Dax McCombs, Ray McCoy and Garrett Young.
Wayne was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. He retired from M&H Valve after 33 years of service. Wayne was a veteran of the Army National Guard. He loved telling stories but most of all he loved the Lord, he loved life and he loved his family.
Wayne is preceded in death by his father, Olen Parris and mother Marie Parris.
