Lyn was born to her parents Al and Helen Thiemke on the Feast of the Annunciation 3/25/35 in Lockport NY.
She was raised in Lockport with her 2 sisters Peggy and Sondra and graduated from Newfane High School in 1952 where she was a member of the softball and fencing teams among other things
After graduating from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1955 with a degree in Retailing Management she went to work at Sibley's Department store in Rochester where she met her husband to be, Gordon H Clark whom predeceased her by 24 years.
After moving to Connecticut she and her husband had 2 sons Chip and Peter.
In 1971 Lyn and her family moved to Orleans and became members of the Community of Jesus where she spent many years working in the vegetable and flower gardens, as part of the mosaic guild and many other activities. Her many hobbies included gardening, birdwatching, watercolors and reading.
She was a founding member of the Orleans Improvement Association and was very proud of their accomplishments including the Rhododendron Garden and the brick sidewalks in Orleans center.
Lyn leaves Chip and his wife Tana and granddaughter Casselin of Bend OR and Br Patrick of Orleans MA.
A funeral service celebrating Lyn’s life will be held Wednesday at 10am at the Church of the Transfiguration in Orleans.
