Grandpa wasn't ever just grandpa to me. He was a teacher, father figure, and when necessary a disaplinarian. He taught me how to drive either in his truck or grandmas boat of a car which by the way I still cannot parallel park either. Him and grandma were always there for me No matter what. Unconditional love all the way.  He taught me how to shoot a gun and ride a 4 wheeler. And time and time again showed me what true love was either by his faith in the Lord which he took me to church even when I didnt want to go and the love he shared with Grandma and I hope that I can show my own children even just a little of what he taught me. Kids these days grow up with marvel or dc super heros but Grandpa is my super hero and always will be. It was very hard the last couple of weeks he was still with us having to watch one of the strongest men I have ever known slowly fade away. Pure heartbreak and even though he's not here with us anymore I still every morning before I leave for work poke my head in they're room to check even though it's now just grandma. I could never express with words how much I love him and appreciate everything he's ever done for me. Grandpa my Superhero!!!

Oh my sweet Grandpa aka (Pop) to my boys. How can you just write one memory of you? I think that’s impossible for such a wonderful loving man that taught me so much in 25 years. You taught me how to love myself and be who I am. You taught me how to walk and then shortly later you taught me how to run and boy oh boy was that the worst thing you could have done because little did you know I would be running everywhere, around tables from your butt whoopings and from your tickles and giggles. What I would do to go pick a whipping willow switch to hear you say “you better pick the best one while having a grin on your face” you taught me how to ride my first bike and drive my first car. You were their when I had my first baby Keegan Russell who loves and misses you everyday because he doesn’t have someone to share dumdum suckers with or eat your carnival peanuts with. I remember you teaching me how to ride that four wheeler you loved so much and once I knew how you couldn’t get me off the thing. So when you got sick and everyone said don’t let him ride that thing I said “pop get on and ride it you will be okay you obviously taught me how so you can do it just like you told me nice and slow and don’t go out of the fence” but you sure did go slow but you didn’t stay in the fence, had to find you and you were picking berries! Something you loved to do as well. I miss you so much I can’t even put it into any more words. When I say you were the best Grandpa (pop) anyone could have I’m not exaggerating because you most deff are. And I’ll love you forever until we meet again. I love you pawpaw! Your granddaughter Tori!!! 

Former daughter in law. Obbie and his son David took me on my first deer hunting trip, needless to say it was my last cause it's just too cold for me lol, sat in the trailer the rest of the time, I didn't mind though, I enjoyed myself. Also sitting around the dinner table I always had to sit next to him cause we loved that salt shaker 😊, liked the same cereal and other things as well. All in all he's a great man and will be missed dearly my many. It was an honor to have known you. I will love you my whole life. Until we meet again 🙏🙏🌹🙏🙏.

What a sweet Uncle!! Always a hug and kiss when he saw you!! So happy you have finally left this world where you were suffering and have now met your savior Jesus!! So many loved ones there to meet you!! I will see you again one day and will get another hug and kiss!❤️

So sorry for your loss! We could not make it. You have our prayers and thoughts at this hard time. I will Always miss the good times we all had at the Family Reunion we had in Southern Missouri and I will always be grateful for the Love Uncle Burt, Aunt Geneva and Family! So Sorry again we could not make it!
