He was born March 2, 1956 to Harold and Ethel Poncurak in Yonkers where he was raised and educated. Before his retirement, David was employed by the City of Yonkers Shade Tree Department for twenty-two years. Among his many hobbies David enjoyed playing cards, watching and playing sports, hanging out at the Morningside Pub with his many friends and enjoyed the company of his loving family. David is predeceased by his loving wife Helen (Williams) Poncurak and his mom Ethel Poncurak. David is survived by his father Harold Poncurak, his two sons David, Jr. and Robert Poncurak and his three grandchildren Marissa, Helen and Anthony. He is also survived by his two brothers Stephen (Marylou) Poncurak and Kevin Poncurak and five sisters Karen (Ed) Welch, Donna Albert, Michelle Ratley, Doreen (Randal) Karm and Christina (Sean) Martin and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews as well as many loving friends.

Visitation will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday April 16th at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
