Bay attended Martin High School where his love and passion for music blossomed. He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a Medic in Korea. He later attended University of Houston where his love for music continued. Bay was a pioneer in the hair and beauty industry, where he and his brother's started "Menchaca's Beauty Salons". Bay was an avid golfer, where his bucket list included playing on as many golf courses as possible. He resided on Tiki Island where he enjoyed having as many family and friends over for dinner and fishing. His home was always open to his family, friends and neighbors.
Bay was preceded in death by his wife Sherry Menchaca; parents, Rev. Severiano and Velia Menchaca; sister, Elizabeth and husband Rev. Joe Salazar; brother-in-law, Rev. Joe Cantu; nephews, Leroy Cantu and Max Torres.
Bay is survived by; his daughters Gina Lusk, Shea Menchaca, and Amanda Matranga; son's Robert Cummings, Lance Menchaca and Andrew Richardson; multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren; sister's Linda and husband Mario, Magdalena Cantu; brother Sal and wife Mary, Ezequiel and wife Jan, Ernest and wife Carol, Bobby and wife Kathleen and his loving companion Carolyn Whitfield.
The family will receive friends for visitation Monday, April 15, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Primera Iglesia Asamblea de Dios, 3402 Runnels St., Houston, TX 77003, with a funeral service to follow promptly at 6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ismael's memory may be made to Primera Iglesia Asamblea de Dios, 3402 Runnels St. Houston Tx, 77003 or Menchaca funding care of Latin American Bible Institute.
