Albert was born in Windham, CT, the son of Lawrence Jeffers and Catherine Jeffers, they predeceased him. He was also predeceased by his cherished daughter, Erin J. McSweeney, November 11, 2018.
Albert was a patient, kind and loving man and was always there to give a helping hand especially to his family and those in need, he was a true gentleman He was an avid traveler with his wife Deborah, Erin and all members of his extended family. He enjoyed cruising to many interesting and exotic places. He spent most winters on Hutchinson Island and West Palm Beach, FL where he enjoyed the beach and all the warm weather had to offer. He would always be ready to go to any destination for something to do, always on the move.
He received his doctoral degree in Adult and Continuing Education from the University of Connecticut and also retired from UConn/Storrs after an over thirty-year career in education and administration. Al also served in the U.S. Navy during WW II within the aircraft division.
Albert is survived by his loving wife, Deborah A. Jeffers, his sons Randy L. Jeffers (Debra) of CT, Lee B. Jeffers (Debra) of FL, and Scott M. Jeffers of CA, also granddaughters, Chelsea and Shelby Jeffers.
Al will be extremely missed by his family, friends and all those who knew him - he will be remembered with kindness and love.
Albert’s family wish to express their deepest gratitude to all those assisting in his care in the Neuroscience ICU and Department, of YNHH – they all guided us through this most difficult time.
A Memorial Service, with military honors, will be held at a later time. The date and location will be posted on this website.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Albert’s memory may be made to the charity of their choice.
