She was born October 5, 1929 in Etterbeek, Belgium, daughter of Guillaume Van Overstraeten and Petronille Berthe (DeMaerschalk) Van Overstraeten.
She grew up in Brussels, Belgium studying textile and clothing design. She enjoyed Girl Guides and helping her mother and sister with the family gourmet specialty shop.
On March 27, 1951 Jeanine married Frederic Nassaux, a civil engineer, in Belgium.
They sailed to Canada where Frederic secured an engineering position in Regina, Saskatchewan. In1953, they immigrated to the United States.
Jeanine and Frederic raised eight children; one born in Canada, one in Washington, DC and six in Chambersburg, Pa.
Jeanine encouraged independence, empathy and exploration in her children. She passed on her appreciation for art, music, different cultures, gardening and nature. She was beautiful, elegant, artistic, endearing and selfless. Her children always felt loved and respected.
From 1979 to1994, Jeanine worked as the Assistant Manager and Purchasing Agent for Lawrence Technological University Book Store in Southfield, Michigan.
She was a member of the St. Joseph Church in Mechanicsburg.
She is predeceased by her husband, Frederic Alfred Nassaux and her sister Christiane Leunen of Belgium.
She will be lovingly remembered by her surviving eight children and their families:

Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Mechanicsburg will be a private service at the convenience of the family. Celebration of Jeanine’s Life will be scheduled at a later date.
