• Born in Indiana on January 21, 1934 and was an only child
• Spent most of her childhood in Decatur, Illinois
• During WWII she received a used bicycle from her dad. She loved riding her bike with her friends all around the neighborhood.
• She was a talented seamstress and made most of her and her daughter’s clothes. The fabric always matched whether it was plaid, striped, or a print. I still remember her sewing tips.
• Her first job was a waitress and she always gave a tip when eating out. She knew how hard the wait staff worked.
• Made custom slip covers
• Worked for 7-Eleven, and Schlage Lock
• Air Force wife who knew how to pack and move the household. She was extremely proud of dad’s service to the USA.
In 1952 she married Joshua A Stanley at St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Decatur, IL. Mom grew up in this church and continued to attend the church when vacationing in the area.
• Married for 65 years
• Had two children, Marilyn and Mark
• Lived in Indiana, Illinois, Hawaii, Delaware, New Jersey, Missouri, and Colorado
• Lived in Colorado Springs for over 50 years
She leaves behind her daughter, Marilyn & her husband, Greg; daughter-in-law, Cathy; grandchildren, Steve, Justine, Andrew, Jeremy, & Michelle; great-grandchildren, Joshua & Paige; and many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Josh, her son, Mark, and her parents.
