Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Lacy Handley of Parrish.
Visitation will be held at 12 p.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the Kilgore Green Chapel, and burial will be at Walker Memory Gardens. John Jaye will officiate.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 68 years, B.J. Dover; son Mike Dover and daughter-in-law Lynne Dover of Jasper; grandson Matt Dover and granddaughter-in-law Emily Cole of New York; granddaughter Dr. Laura Dover of Birmingham; her beloved sister Rose Handley Dunn of Fairhope; and six nieces and nephews.
Louise was born June 16, 1931, in Walker County, where she lived her entire life. She graduated from Parrish High School in 1949 before earning an associates degree. She then married her high school sweetheart B.J. in 1951. The couple's only child was born the following year, and Louise soon went to work for Leake Insurance Agency in downtown Jasper, where she worked for many years. She was a charter member of the Jasper Pilot Club and was an active member for decades. She was a faithful member of Jasper's Northside Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for over 30 years, and a Master Gardener with a "green thumb" who loved any and all flowers. But her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren, who will always remember the endless love bestowed upon them by their grandmother.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Pilot International Fund (PIF), P.O. Box 1003, Jasper, AL 35502.
