Jeffrey Scott Dangel Sr. 60 of Cartersville, GA passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family from a bone infection illness on May 7th, 2019 at 7:07 pm at his home. Jeffrey was born to the late Alfred Ernest Dangel and Evelyn Nadine Alling Dangel.
Jeffrey was one of 5 children, growing up in Sioux City, Iowa. He joined the United States Marine Corp in 1976 until he retired in 1995. He was deployed to Desert Shield and fought in Desert Storm war. He was honored President George H W Bush and First Lady Barbara Bush. He was a member of the American Legion Post 199. He enjoyed collecting old coins and baseball cards. He was a big baseball fan and enjoyed watching his San Diego Padres and watching the World Series each year. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his extended family and his children and grandchildren. He was a true Marine till the end, and loved this country more than anyone I have ever known.
He is preceded in death by his father Alfred Ernest Dangel, his mother Evelyn Nadine Alling Dangel, his brother Jack Dangel and his son Brandon Dangel.
He is survived by his son; Jeffrey S Dangel Jr. of Somerton, Arizona and his daughter Jona Marie Dangel of Cartersville, Georgia, and 3 Grandchildren, Jeffrey III , Joseph and Jacob. He is also survived by his remaining siblings including three brothers; Jim Dangel of Sioux City, Iowa, Joe Dangel of Sioux City, Iowa and his sister Janice Taylor (Dangel) of Lakeside, Arizona. He is also survived by a host of friends and family here in Cartersville, GA and Harrison, OH.
Visitation will be on Thursday May 16th, 2019 between 5:00 and 8:00 pm. A graveside service will be conducted at Georgia National Cemetery on Friday May 17th, 2019 at 11:30 pm in the morning with military honors rendered.
